The first posting to this list outlines the reasons to start a uk-based radio list in addition to the existing global list.

---<start introduction>---
hi jaromil
you'v raised a valid point so let me put our reasons for starting another
list.
*I am on the global audio list so moniter what goes on if i wanna forward
any mails on it to the rest of the radio group then ill forward them onto
the uk radio list [so as not to fill up inboxes of others in imc uk who are
not interested in radio
*another of the group is on the euro radio list and will do the same
*we are in number about 10 and have just started and just made our first
program and planning to make many more .i think the number of us justifies a
list and hopefully it will draw in more people from outside the indy people,
i am just about to announce the existance of a list on the newswire
*when we are in the process of making a program we will do alot of
communication between ourselves as we are going to mostly work in ones or
twos on audio pieces and get together for the final edit at those times
there will be a fair amount of e traffic and i know how much my inbox gets
at the best of times alot! so dont feel as if i should be subjecting others
in imcuk to lots of mails that they dont nesserserally want.

>i'm worried about the fragmentation of comunication, which can be very
>counter productive in our case.
*i actually think this will lead to more communication as alot of people
dont have time to look at other lists and as we will be forwarding relevent
stuff (to our radio group) to it they will have a window to other lists
(there is an awful lot of stuff on the imcaudio list that isnt relevent to
us in the uk)that they arnt subscribed to

ok these are what come to mind right now
yes it is good to have peps asking questions and promoting discussion there
should be more communication especially between tecys and the non tecky peps
I see a sort of tecknocracy within indymedia where info is not documented in
plain language or at all and mails from non-tecs to tecs going unanswered
which is really bad especially when it involves work on indy sites
ok gone off course a bit but hope those points help to allay any fears of
communication breakdown
