According to the <a href="http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/listinfo/imc-uk-network">info page</a>, this list is "to organise the uk ( united kollektives ) network process". By the time it was set up, several indymedia projects existed in the UK: imc uk, imc Bristol, imc Scotland, imc Westmidlands, imc Cambridge. This list was needed to coordinate collaboration and the sharing of resources between these projects. Indymedia UK was to become a network of collectives.
