First Imc set up @ WTO protests, Seattle

To report about the protests against the trade negotiations at the WTO Ministerial Conference in Seattle, the first Independent Media Center was set up: An open access physical media center plus an open publishing website.

An interview with Jeff Perlstein, who was involved in setting up the first imc, can be found in the book "We are everywhere".

As the indymedia model was adopted in many cities in the US and later in Australia, Europe, Latin America and Africa, indymedia.org turned into a global portal. The material from the WTO protests in Seattle was moved to seattle.indymedia.org. The texts are still there, but the links for the pictures are broken, probably due to the latest software update. Check anyway, they might be back now...
