Website reporting about the “Carnival against Capitalism” in financial centers worldwide. Hosted by bakspace and partly produced in London. A precursor of indymedia.
The June 18th website links to live reports from 41 countries. It was the first global test-run of "active", the software that was first written for local activist communities by the cat collective in Sydney, Australia, and used for the first Independent Media Center at the WTO protests in Seattle, November 1999. Most of the early IMCs used "active". Many media activists collaborated in the reporting: People from Squall, Schnews, Bakspace, Undercurrents...
June 18th in London was organised by reclaim the streets (add link to com.une.farce essay?). and it was the seed of indymedia UK. (add link to sam and annie article).
