The IMC in Edinburgh was open for about two weeks during the G8 protests 2005. ca 25 public access terminals plus boxes for audio, video and pictures as well as laptop ports. Ca 1000 pp used it.

Imc Uk reported from an internet caff about the "Fiesta for Live", the 2003 protests against the world biggest arms fair. In the course of the reporting, we watched aircrafts flying into the world trade center on web-videos.

Backspace opened in spring 1996 and closed late December 1999. The media center for J18th in London was set up in Backspace. After J18th, a newly formed "Reclaim the Streets media group" met in Backspace a few times, then transformed into the first imc uk collective.
